Molecular Docking Study of Catechin Compounds as Antibacterial

Dini Febianeu

Abstract

Antibacterial is a compound that can inhibit the growth of certain bacteria. One of the efforts to find new drugs to treat infections is by filtering bioactive compounds from nature. The flavonoid group of bioactive compounds that have antibacterial activity, one of which is catechin compounds. Catechins can be obtained from the tea plant. This study aims to study the interaction of flavonoid active compounds, namely catechins with the target of D-alanyl D-alanine decarboxypeptidase, which was carried out with the help of software applications from a computer with a docking molecule. After validation, the result of the RMSD value is 2.33 . There are 13 bond-forming amino acids, 6 of which form hydrogen bonds, 4 amino acids form van der Waals bonds, 1 amino acid forms pi-sigma bonds, 1 amino acid forms pi-alkyl bonds and 1 amino acid forms unfavorable donor-donor bonds
