Uji Aktivitas Antibakteri Sediaan Deodoran Ekstrak n-Hexan Bunga Kecombrang (Etlingera elatior) terhadap Bakteri Staphylococcus epidermidis

Abstract


Etlingera elatior flos have been known for a long time by the Indonesian people as ornamental plants, vegetables, and traditional medicines, containing flavonoids, terpenoids, saponins, and tannins that have pharmacological activities as antibacterial, antioxidant, anticancer, larvicide and repellent. This research to determine the components of the compounds in Etlingera elatior flos vegetable oil and to determine its antibacterial effectiveness in the form of deodorant. The thick extract of n-hexan dissolved in 96% ethanol was distilled, the oil phase was taken and the components and levels were analyzed using GC-MS. The results of analysis of Etlingera elatior flos vegetable oil, it consists of 22 of compounds that have antibacterial activity, namely as much as dodecanal, dodecanal, dimethylacetal and 1-Eicosanol. Antibacterial of Etlingera elatior flos vegetable oil at a concentration of 9% with sensitivity of 15 mm ± 0.20 mm and 10% was 16.7 mm ± 0.45, indicating that the compound is effective as an antibacterial. Evaluation of deodorant preparations including pH, viscosity and irritation test has requirements of deodorant preparations. The sensitivity of Formula 1 deodorant was 9.89 mm ± 0.51 mm and F2 was 12.1 mm ± 0.41 mm. The formula with the best preparation is deodorant F2, this is indicated by the inhibition zone formed and the results of the hedonic test on the parameters of the effect of eliminating body odor..
