Abstract

Cintawargi and CintaLaksana Village of Tegalwaru District of Karawang Regency which is one of, the community groups today still use plants as traditional medicine only empirically. The feared that in the modern era this led to the extinction of local knowledge of traditional medicine by the population, so ethnobotany and ethnopharmacology studies were carried out. This research aims for the suitability of ethnobotany studies of medicinal plants in The Village of Cintawargi and Cintalaksana which is used empirically with its entopharmacological studies so that in traditional medicine it becomes appropriate, so that medicinal plants can be used as raw materials for the development of traditional medicine that is processed in a modern way or for utilization for further related purposes. The method is done using descriptive methods with identification and interviews in the field. Identification by snowball sampling technique, with quantitative presentation of data that measures the percentage of citations. Tests showed that of the 29 species and only 18 different families were used. He most commonly used plants are plants of the Zingiberaceae family such as ginger, cutcherry, galangal, and turmeric. The most commonly used part of the plant is the leaves at 65.51%. The most frequent processing is boiled at 65.51%, and the most frequent use of medicinal plants by drinking is 51.72%. The study of literature shows that medicinal plants that are most often used by the village communities of love and cintawargi in etnobotani study all correspond between knowledge of medicinal plants empirically with ethnopharmacological studies
