Analisis Penggunaan Obat Antihipertensi pada Ibu Hamil di Rawat Inap RS Bandung
Abstract
Background: Hypertension in pregnancy is a major cause of pregnancy complications that pose a high risk to maternal and fetal health. Proper management through antihypertensive therapy is crucial to control blood pressure and prevent further complications during pregnancy. Objective: This study aims to evaluate the profile and accuracy of antihypertensive drug use in pregnant women with hypertension at the inpatient unit of one of the hospitals in Bandung City. Methods: This study used an observational design with retrospective data and total sampling according to the inclusion criteria. The accuracy of
medication use was evaluated based on the 2016 guidelines of the Indonesian Association of Obstetrics and Gynecology (POGI). Data analysis included descriptive analysis for patient characteristics and drug distribution, and qualitative analysis for therapeutic appropriateness. Results: Of the 97 medical records that met the criteria, most patients were 21-35 years old (76%) with a gestational age of 28-40 weeks (73%). The most used antihypertensive drug was nifedipine (48%). Evaluation of the accuracy of therapy showed an accuracy rate of 95% for drug selection, and the accuracy of dose and frequency
each reached 100%. Conclusion: The use of antihypertensive drugs in pregnant women with hypertension is dominated by nifedipine, methyldopa, and amlodipine, with a very high level of accuracy in drug selection, dose, and frequency of administration.
