Background: Body scrub is a semi-solid emulsion preparation that functions to remove dead skin cells,
provide moisture, and make the skin soft. One of the essential components in body scrubs is
antioxidants. Antioxidants are compounds that can combat free radicals to regenerate the skin.
Objective: This study aims to evaluate the nangka banana peel as an antioxidant in the form of
flavonoid compounds in body scrub preparations. Methods: The extraction method used is maceration
to obtain a thick extract from the nangka banana peel. The concentrations of nangka banana peel
extract used in each body scrub formula are 1 gram, 3 gram, and 5 gram. The evaluation of the body
scrub preparations included homogeneity tests, organoleptic tests, spreadability tests, pH tests,
viscosity tests, adhesion tests, cream type tests, stability tests, hedonic tests, and irritation tests.
Results: The results of the body scrub evaluation showed that the preparations were homogeneous,
stable, had good spreadability, adhesion, and viscosity, with a pH of 5.79-6.55, did not cause irritation,
and the formula most preferred by the panelists was formula 2. Conclusion: Extracts of nangka banana
peels can be made into body scrub cream preparations and have antioxidant activity of 16.84144, with
a vitamin C standard of 3.73659. For the preparations, it shows that the IC50 value of F1 is 40.23555
μg/mL, F2 is 35.05051 μg/mL, and F3 is 30.08351 μg/mL, and the results of the preparation evaluation
meet the requirements
