Manuscript Types Policy
Journal of Pharmacopolium accepts scholarly manuscripts in clinical pharmacy, community pharmacy, pharmaceutics, pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmacognosy, phytochemistry, and related fields directly relevant to pharmaceutical science and practice.
Accepted Manuscript Types
a. Original Research Article
Articles reporting original research, including the development and evaluation of pharmaceutical dosage forms, pharmaceutical analysis, natural products, biological activity testing, medication use, pharmaceutical services, and relevant computational research.
Manuscripts must describe the objectives, methods in sufficient detail to permit verification, results, critical discussion, limitations, and conclusions. Laboratory studies must include appropriate controls, replication, and analyses. Computational studies must describe the data sources, tools, parameters, and relevant validation. Computational predictions must not be presented as direct evidence of clinical effectiveness or safety.
b. Systematic Review and Meta-analysis
Articles that systematically synthesize evidence addressing a pharmaceutical question. Manuscripts must include the search strategy, eligibility criteria, selection process, quality or risk-of-bias assessment, and synthesis methods. Meta-analysis is undertaken when the characteristics of the data permit valid pooling.
c. Scoping Review
Articles that map developments, evidence characteristics, or research gaps in pharmacy using transparent methods for searching, selecting, and mapping sources.
d. Narrative Review
Articles that critically integrate and evaluate pharmaceutical literature. Manuscripts must describe their objectives and approach to literature selection and provide a meaningful synthesis that advances pharmaceutical science or practice.
Assessment Requirements
All manuscript categories undergo initial editorial screening and, if eligible, peer review in accordance with journal policy. Assessment considers relevance, originality, methodological appropriateness, strength of evidence, and scientific contribution.
Manuscripts outside these categories are not processed through regular submission. Manuscript formatting and submission requirements follow the Author Guidelines and the journal template. The editor may request a change in manuscript category, providing an explanation to the authors.
