Abstract

One of the plants that are believed to have medicinal benefits is the leaves of the Butterfly pea (Clitoria ternatea L). Although the leaves of the Butterfly pea (Clitoria ternatea L) have various health benefits, the use of natural ingredients must still consider many things, including the accuracy of information about the compounds contained in these natural ingredients, the accuracy of the use of doses, and the time and method of use. Based on this, research was conducted on phytochemical screening and antibacterial testing of butterfly pea. Based on this, a phytochemical screening study and a butterfly pea toxicity test were conducted with concentrations of 25 ppm, 50 ppm, 100 ppm, 500 ppm, and 1000 ppm. This test aims to determine the level of toxicity in the sample to be tested. In the phytochemical test, the leaves of bunga telang contain alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, quinones, polyphenols, triterpenoids, and steroids. In the toxicity test, the bunga telang has a mortality percentage of 48% from methanol, n-hexane, and Ethyl Acetate extracts, it has different level of toxicity by the LC50 value that obtained from methanol extract 126.36 (toxic), n-hexane exstact 313.32 (toxic), and ethyl acetate extract 171.96 (toxic) have toxic activity because of the LC50 value 30-1000 g/ml.
