Abstract

Akses intravena perifer merupakan salah satu prosedur infasif yang dilakukan pada anak untuk pemberian obat selama anak dirawat di rumah sakit. Akses intravena perifer pada anak dapat dilakukan dengan cara peripheral intravenous lock (PIV Lock). Berbagai komplikasi dapat terjadi pada PIV lock yang menyebabkan hilangnya kepatenan akses intravena perifer yang pada akhirnya anak dapat mengalami trauma fisik maupun psikologis. Salah satu intervensi yang dapat dilakukan adalah prosedur flushing/pembilasan. Tujuan dari penulisan tinjauan literatur ini yaitu untuk mengidentifikasi efektifitas flushing PIV lock dalam mempertahan kepatenan akses intravena. Metode yang digunakan dalam penulisan tinjauan literatur adalah penelusuran internet dari database Google Scholar, PubMed, Proquest, Medscape, dan EBSCO dengan menggunakan kata kunci intravena perifer, intravenous flushing, peripheral intravenous lock. Kriteria inklusi yaitu tahun publikasi antara 2009-2019 dalam bahasa Indonesia dan bahasa Inggris, desain penelitian RCTs, quasi experiment dan qualitative prospective study. Didapatkan sebanyak 10 artikel dan yang terpilih sebanyak 6 artikel yang sesuai kriteria inklusi. Prosedur flushing PIV lock dapat menggunakan Nacl 0,9% dan heparin salin. Pemberian flushing pada PIV lock efektif mempertahankan kepatenan akses intravena. Dengan demikian flushing PIV lock dapat mengurangi trauma fisik maupun psikologis dan meningkat kualitas asuhan keperawatan pada anak.
