PENGARUH MADU HUTAN TERHADAP KADAR GULA DARAH MENCIT PUTIH (Musmuscullus) JANTAN YANG DIINDUKSI ALOKSAN

Abstract


Diabetes is a group of chronic metabolic diseases associated with disorders of carbohydrate, fat and protein metabolism. It is hoped that this research will enable the public and patients suffering from Diabetes Mellitus to use other medicines as alternatives, such as traditional medicines that utilize the natural potential that exists in Indonesia, such as the use of honey, the honey used is taken from the Kuningan area and has not yet been tested for the potential for supportive therapy for DM sufferers. lowers the patient's blood sugar levels. Even though honey contains sugar, people believe that honey can be used as a medicine to lower type 1 and type 2 blood sugar levels, so for this reason it is necessary to scientifically test the potential of honey to reduce blood sugar levels in DM patients. This study aims to determine the effect of honey on the blood sugar levels of male white mice (Mus musculus) induced by alloxan. The research used was an experimental method. The research results show that the difference in antidiabetic effects with the most effectiveness is the positive control (Glibenclamide 0.05%) namely 127.2 mg/dL followed by honey treatment group III (honey 42 mg/20g BW) namely 122.6 mg/dL. Honey has an antidiabetic effect in mice induced by alloxan at a dose of 42mg/20g BW which has the best reducing effect.
